Click here for our Reservation Form Wilderness First Responder - 9 Days (72 Hours) This course focuses on the skills needed to respond to a medical emergency in
the wilderness. It is specifically designed for people who work and play where
medical assistance is likely to be delayed in an emergency. The class includes
basic anatomy, comprehensive patient evaluation, practical treatment, long term
monitoring and evacuation. Presented material will be practices during many realistic
scenarios throughout the course. This course meets and exceeds standard guidelines
set by the Wilderness Medical Society and meets the Grand Canyon guide licensing
requirements. Students will recieve a Wilderness First Responder certification
from the River Skills Center good for two years and an American Heart Association
CPR card, good for two years. Cost is $495.Wilderness First Responder Recertification - 3 Days (24 Hours) This course is a hands-on refresher that renews skills and confidence in managing outdoor emegencies. This course meets and exceeds standard guidelines set by the Wilderness Medical Society and meets the Grand Canyon guide licensing requirements. Students will recieve a Wilderness First Responder recertification from the River Skills Center good for two years and an American Heart Association CPR card, good for two years. Cost is $175. Wilderness First Aid & CPR - 1 Day Although based on the American Red Cross Standard First Aid curriculum, our Wilderness First Aid class goes beyond "Call 911." The class is perfect for anyone who spends time outdoors. It teaches basic first aid concepts in a wilderness context. Subjects from our WFR class including comprehensive patient evaluation, long term monitoring and evacuation are covered in a condensed format. Students will receive a Wilderness First Aid certification from the River Skills Center and an American Heart Association CPR card, good for two years. Cost is $85. River
Rescue and Safety - Level I - 2
DaysThis course is a must for anyone who spends time around moving water, from private boaters to professional rescuers. Students learn rescue techniques, scene management, hydro-dynamics, swiftwater swimming and crossing and much, much more. Students will receive a River Rescue and Safety-Level I certification good for two years from River Skills Center upon completion of the course. Cost is $200. Whitewater Skills Intensive - 2 Days A perfect class for any water enthusiast looking to challenge themselves, increase their awareness of safety and water environments, and ready to move into more challenging whitewater. We will cover advanced whitewater skills, rescue techniques and safety skills, including on-the-water experience on the Upper Klamath. You'll recieve personalized instruction in a well-supported learning environment.
